On 31 January 2020, the United Kingdom officially left the European Union. However, until the end of the transition period on 31 December 2020, travel and immigration rules remained the same. BREXIT: New 2-STEP Procedure to Obtain Residency for British nationals

As of this week, #Spain is introducing a new 2-step procedure to obtain #residency certificates for #UK Nationals who wish to reside in Spain post-#Brexit. The #Withdrawal Agreement between UK and EU sets a transitional period until 31 December 2020, until which UK citizens retain all the rights as if the country were still a member of the EU. Automatic Extension for Residence Permits during the National Emergency in Spain

Since the state of National Emergency was declared on 14 March 2020, many foreigners in Spain have been wondering what would happen to their recently expired or just about to expire residence permit. The Government issued a ruling to automatically extend most of the work and residence permits during the Covid-19 crisis.
